Ashley Dupre Drops Lawsuit Against Joe Francis

Ashley Alexandra Dupre, the highly overpaid hooker at the center of the call girl scandal that forced the resignation of New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, has officially withdrawn her $10 million lawsuit against Joe Francis.

The suit, originally filed in April, claimed that Ashley Dupre’s name and image had been exploited for profit by the Girls Gone Wild founder.

“Ms. Dupré wants to eliminate all negativity from her life and focus on the positive,” her attorney, Richard C. Wolfe, said in a statement.

“She has prospects for many exciting new projects coming up this year and is looking forward to starting a new chapter in her life.”

The lawsuit alleged that Ashley Dupre was duped into signing a release form and exposing her breasts for Girls Gone Wild cameras in 2003, when she was just 17.

THG NOTE: There was no doubt about her consent in going topless for the New York Post (above), once her tryst with Eliot Spitzer was exposed, however.

Joe Francis asserted that Ashley Dupre gave her consent on video when the footage was taken, and provided his camera crew with ID that showed she was 18. Francis later released video clips that supported those assertions.

Samantha Ronson is “Husband,” Lindsay Lohan “Wife”

Having moved on from the many, many men in her past, Lindsay Lohan continues to stay tight-lipped on the status of her relationship with Samantha Ronson. But now, “sources” are speaking out on the secret, private life of the strange duo.

We say “sources” because this breaking news story comes to us from Star magazine, ever the bastion of celebrity gossip integrity. Anyway.

Everyone assumes they’re an item - but the inner workings of the Lindsay Lohan-Samantha Ronson romance have been a mystery. Until now.

Well, according to Star, Samantha Ronson is taking on the role of “husband” in her odd domestic relationship with Lohan (to the surprise of no one).

They also like role-playing! Says the “insider” source: “Lindsay and Sam play certain roles. Lindsay is the passive one, the wife. It works for them!”

Another source tells the celebrity news magazine, “They’re totally playing house and loving every minute of it. And yes, they share a bed.”

According to Star, Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson are not so different from your standard couple, doing domestic, everyday things as shopping for sex toys together. They are also said to have a “pact” to stay thin.

This isn’t the first time insiders have spoken out on Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson. Lohan’s friend Cory Kennedy has said:

“Lindsay just feels safe with her. I think that they have a very loyal and trustworthy relationship, which is really hard to come across in the world that Lindsay’s in. It’s a trust thing. I think the most important thing in a relationship is, really, trust. That’s what their relationship thrives on. I love the fact that Samantha and Lindsay are both really happy.”

Mmm hmm. Wonder how really happy Samantha and Lindsay are about those so “close” to them continuing to speak out about their role-playing.

Christie Brinkley to Diana Bianchi: I Forgive You!

Even though her divorce trial with Peter Cook is beyond ugly, Christie Brinkley is extending an olive branch to the mistress who came between them.

After a long day on the witness stand Thursday, Brinkley told reporters she wanted to let Diana Bianchi know that she forgives her.

“I’d just like to say that I can’t help but think about Diana Bianchi, and I want her and her family to know that I feel really badly for them,” said Brinkley. “I feel bad for her and forgive her completely. She was manipulated.”

Christie Brinkley also added of Thursday’s testimony, “today was really difficult reliving the horror (of what happened two years ago).”

A source says that on Wednesday, the day the trial commenced, Diana Bianchi went up and approached Brinkley’s daughter, Alexa Ray Joel (whose father is Brinkley’s previous husband Billy Joel) outside the courtroom to apologize.

“Diana Bianchi said to her, ‘I am sorry for all the pain I have caused you and your family,’” reports a New York Daily News source.

“Alexa then hugged her and said, ‘We have all been through a lot.’”

The humiliating, public skewering of that bastard Peter Cook and his obsessions with sex and online porn is expected to resume Monday.

Alex Rodriguez: Using Madonna to Help Yankees?

You can’t spell prima donna without Madonna, a bit ironic given that Alex Rodriguez - long considered a me-first baseball player - may actually be demonstrating true signs of displaying and selflessness with his recent actions.

Here’s the question: Is the rumored affair between Alex Rodriguez and Madonna about sex, or lighting a fire under the mediocre, third-place New York Yankees?

Consider the fact that the last three high-profile athletes to have supposedly boinked Madonna went on to win their sport’s title that year:

1. Jose Canseco, 1989 (Oakland A’s won World Series)
2. Mark Messier, 1994 (New York Rangers won Stanley Cup)
3. Dennis Rodman, 1996 (Chicago Bulls won NBA Championship)

See!? Madonna is like the anti-Jessica Simpson! If A-Rod is really cheating on Cynthia Rodriguez with her, he’s just doing it for the team!

But it paying dividends? Not immediately, at least. Since news of the alleged Alex Rodriguez-Madonna tryst broke on June 30, New York is just 1-3, including a 7-0 drubbing by Boston last night at Yankee Stadium.

Britney Spears Fashion: For Sale!

Seven articles of clothing once worn by pop star Britney Spears are among the pieces offered by online auctioneers Gotta Have It! in its Rock & Roll Pop Art Auction.

One of the featured pieces is a T-shirt worn by Spears while she was a cast member on the New Mickey Mouse Club and signed by her co-stars, including Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, and Keri Russell.

One of the items not being featured: pants. She hates those.

Other items up for bit include some ree-diculous, titillating outfits from her “Drive Me Crazy” and “Oops, I Did it Again” world tours. Follow this link to nostalgically remember the glory days of Britney Spears fashion.

Our staff members (and readers) have been in the throes of a major debate lately, regarding whether Audrina Patridge’s boobs are real or fake.

What’s indisputable, though, is that The Hills star has slimmed down a lot since we first got to know her on the MTV reality show hit.

In the new TV Guide, the Into the Blue 2 actress recently talked about her diet as well as a little “exercise advice.” Back in high school, The Hills hottie says she used to guzzle milk to slow down her metabolism.

Now that it’s under control, the 23-year-old Audrina swears by portion control: “I order what I want when I’m out, but I don’t eat all of it.”

That entails either doing laps in her backyard pool (guess it’s bigger than it looks), hiking in Runyon Canyon, going for a run or pumping iron.

“Even when I’m just sitting in front of the TV, I lift five-pound weights or do squats,” the feuding friend of Lauren Conrad says. “And I wear heels when I vacuum, because it works my calves and my butt!”

Lee Grivas, Boyfriend of Christina Applegate, is Dead

Lee Grivas, the 26-year-old boyfriend of Christina Applegate, was found dead in his apartment on July by a neighbor.

He was discovered, alone, in the living room of his Hollywood apartment, and was pronounced dead at 5:25 p.m.

Although the autopsy has not been completed as of yet, sources report there were no visible signs of trauma.

Christina Applegate and Lee Grivas dated on and off for years after they met through a mutual friend, a dancer in her Broadway show “Sweet Charity.”

“I am profoundly saddened,” Christina Applegate said in a statement.

“Lee was an incredible human being who was an extremely important and beautiful part of my life. He is missed beyond words. He touched so many and I feel much sadness for his mother, father, brother, and all of his family and friends.”

Donald Trump: Anne Hathaway is a Sellout

Donald Trump will offer up his opinion on, well, just about everything, and it doesn’t matter if anyone asked for it. The Donald’s newest target: Anne Hathaway and her “sellout” response to the Raffaello Follieri situation!

The star of The Apprentice recently told Access Hollywood that it was extremely “disloyal” of Anne Hathaway to leave Raffaello Follieri. Seriously.

“She hasn’t remained very loyal to him, has she? So when he had plenty of money, she liked him,” Trump said. “But after that, not as good, right?”

Trump missed have missed the fact that Raffaello Follieri was arrested three times in as many months - the third courtesy of the frickin’ FBI.

You’d also think that being worth $2 billion, Donald would know more about gold-digging. Anne wasn’t in it for the money - she’s rich too, idiot!

Heather Mills would have stuck by Follieri long enough to marry his ass with no pre-nup and quickly divorce him though, we’re fairly sure of that.

Angelina Jolie Readies for Birth

Wait for it… wait for it…

Okay, it looks like Angelina Jolie still has not given birth as of this posting.

Still, the Associated Press reports this blessed event may take place at any moment, as the Wanted star has checked into a hospital in southern France as she prepares to give birth to twins.

Nadine Bauer, a spokeswoman for the Lenval Hospital in Nice, says that Brad Pitt’s better half had to planned to check into the hospital’s maternity wing for awhile. Jolie was reportedly admitted so she could be kept under surveillance, not necessarily to give birth immediately.

Brangelina will soon be adding to its brood.

Jessica Simpson Meets Tony Romo’s Parents

Where do you go when Pamela Anderson hates on you?

The Olive Garden, naturally, with your boyfriend’s parents.

Okay, so it had nothing to do with Anderson’s harsh words. But Jessica Simpson did meet Tony Romo’s folks there on June 27, in his native Wisconsin.

Not surprisingly, the celebrities’ making a reservation at the far-from-fancy Olive Garden surprised even the restaurant’s general manager.

“We thought it was a big joke,” said Doug Belfanz. “Jessica Simpson’s not going to the Olive Garden in Janesville, Wisconsin!”

She did, though. Wearing a casual blouse and blue jeans, Jessica Simpson walked in holding hands with Tony Romo, who wore a T-shirt and hat.

After dinner, they posed for a photo with the staff and signed autographs. Sneaking out through the kitchen, Simpson complimented the chefs.

“They were laughing,” Belfanz told People. “It was just a big family night out.”

One that may put to rest rumors of a Tony Romo-Carrie Underwood reunion.
